Adding text to a pre-animated image

Photobucket

Right click on the ladybug image above and save it to your computer.

1.  Open Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop
2.  Open a new transparent image in PSP that is 105 pixels wide
and 75 pixels high.

3.  Chose your font and type your name or text. Add any bevel and/or drop shadow that
you would like to add.

4.  Edit>Copy

5.  Go to animation shop. Right click on a blank space on your work space
and click Paste As New Animation

6.  Open the ladybug image. Notice that there are 30 frames of animation.

7.  Click on the frame of text that you just pasted into animation shop.

8.  Edit>Duplicate Selected. You will need to repeat this until you have
30 frames of your text. I want to add that not all premade animations will have
30 frames so it's important to first see how many frames of animation there actually
are and then duplicate your text to match.

9.  On your keyboard Ctrl + A (to select all) then Ctrl + C (to copy).

10.  Go back to the ladybug animation but don't click inside it just yet. Just make sure it's active
by clicking on the window around it.

11.  On your keyboard Ctrl + A then Ctrl + E. Move your mouse until you're happy
with the placement of your text. Now click just once.

12.  Click the view animation button. If you are happy with it, save it. If not, you can
undo it and try again. This is what mine looks like.

already have it. Install it to your plug ins.

Sweet Dreams Baby

Photobucket

You won't need any extra plug ins for this tutorial.
The Keith Garvey tube that I used can be purchased from MPT
The other supplies you can download here
Save the font in the zip on your desktop and then open it. It will show up in
you fonts in PSP when you need it later.
Save the mask with your masks.
Here we go:
1. Open the ac_nightsky~AC image.
2. Layers>New Raster Layer
Click Ok.
3. Click on your floodfill tool and floodfill the image white.
4. Layers>Load/Save Mask>Load Mask From Disk
Find Mask 179 in the drop down. Make sure there are dots in Source Luminance,
Fit to Canvas and Hide All Mask. Cllick Ok.
5. Layers>Invert Mask Adjustment
6. Layers> Merge>Merge Group
7. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal: 2 Opacity: 85 Blur: 3.00 Color: #000000
Click OK
8. Layers>Merge>Merge All
9. Copy and paste your tubes onto the image. Arrange them like above
or to your taste. I used the same drop shadow as in step 7. For the star
I resized it by 65% for the one on the top left. If you're using a
copyrighted tube that you've purchased don't forget to add that info
and your license number now.
10. Add your name or other text. I used the included font with the
foreground and background color #9acaed and the font size: 48
11. Selections>Select All (ctrl + A)
Selections>Float (ctrl + F)
12. Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel
Bevel #2 Smoothness: 0 Color: White
Width: 8 Depth: 1 Angle: 315
Ambience: -3 Intensity: 50
Shininess: 0 Elevation: 30
Click ok
13. Selections>Select None
14. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Same Settings
15. Layers>Merge>Merge All
16. Open Animation Shop and then open the image you just
created in there. I use PSP 9 so what I do is just copy it in
PSP then right click on a blank space in Animation Shop and click
Paste As New Animation.
17. Now we need to dulplicate the image you made in PSP so:
Edit>Duplicate Selected
We need a total of 11 frames so you need to repeat this until underneath
your last frame it has F:11 D:10
If you make too many frames, click on the border around thelast frame
so just that one is selected then Edit>Delete. Do this until you have just 11 frames.
Use the scroll at the bottom of your frames and scroll all the way to the
left so that you're back to the first frame if it already isn't. On your
keyboard Ctrl + A to select all frames.
18. Open the star line bling.
19. Ctrl + A to select all frames then Ctrl + C to copy them.
20. Go back to your image that you made in Paint Shop and on your
keyboard Ctrl + E
21. Move your mouse and all you should see is the first star. That's perfectly okay
because they'll all show up in the finished product. Move your mouse
until the star is as shown below and click once.

Photobucket
22. Now click the view animation button (looks like a red film strip on the
top right hand side of Animation Shop) to watch your animation.
23. I resized mine by 85%. Save and enjoy.
